The trustees’ responsibilities include employment, finance, property, health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding. They have drawn up policies and procedures termed Reference Documents to ensure that they follow best practice and Quakers’ sense of “right ordering”. The policies can be read and downloaded from the Key documents page.

Safeguarding

Our life is love, and peace, and tenderness; and bearing one with another, and forgiving one another, and not laying accusations one against another; but praying one for another, and helping one another up with a tender hand.

Isaac Penington, 1667

Safeguarding is a priority in our Area Meeting and its constituent Local Meetings. Anyone in our Meetings could be at risk of harm, particularly children up to the age of eighteen and adults with care and support needs.

Our Safeguarding Policy, Procedures, and Resources can be read and downloaded from the Safeguarding page. Alongside these, we have a pastoral care system based on the long Quaker tradition exemplified by the quotation from Isaac Penington above.
